![]() ![]() Now its back to reading "Condition: Normal" The service battery warning started showing too, and stuck around over a week and a few charge cycles. Its obviously seen some use, but most often, its on AC, or perhaps running down to 50-60% and then charged back up.Ī couple of weeks ago, I opened the computer up in the morning and it was nearly flat, despite having been fully charged when I went to bed. Which might explain why my 2012 rMBP is so haggard : Time and over ~4v, particularly at higher temps is probably a stronger predictor than just calendar age. Of course, being unused, they were probably at ~3.7v or lower for their entire life until I pried open the case. Yeah people say that, but I've been testing 18650 cells from 4+ year old, but unused laptop packs, and most have close to their original rated capacity. These batteries have an expiration date the day they're made. ![]() Well, my MBA is nowhere near 1000 cycles and the battery is pretty sad.Ģ582 of 4680 mAh capacity remaining, 55.2% I'll have to check again when I give it a full charge so CoconutBattery can calibrate. ![]() My late-2013 13" MBP that I got 18 months ago is at 99.5% at 64 cucles, although it was originally 103.5%, so it loses about 3% per year so far.ĬoconutBattery also does iOS devices when they're plugged in now, and I'm a bit worried that after 4 months, my iPhone 6 is at 95% after 80 cycles. No wonder these batteries won't last.īut the expiration date thing is not entirely true: with a battery that's some 6 years old (IIRC) I still get 88% of design capacity after 31 load cycles. After a while, I started getting warnings that the battery was getting too hot, starting at around 33 degrees and eventually reaching almost 40 degrees. But yesterday I plugged in the battery to allow the CPU to run at full speed, and had the latest CoconutBattery monitor things. I have one of these mid-2007 MBPs, and after going through a couple of batteries quickly, I now run it without the battery. As an owner of an oldballs 2007 Macbook Pro with batteries that lasted about a year, I'm very impressed to see the unibody batteries actually live up to their claims ![]()
